Need you guys to either prove me wrong or right .
Buddy swears his uncles Tacoma has a v8 in it , not sure exactly what year it is but I’d say early 2000’s. . He says it has a factory v8 I said he’s full of **** . Did the Tacoma ever come with a v8?

I think they had a”T-100” or something that did. But not a taco

Taco has either a 3.4 V6 or 2.7 V4. The 4.7 V8 will swap with some work but no Taco comes stock with a V8.

Yes the old T100 and early tundras had the gen 2 Tacoma look IMO and I think they had V 8 as an option. I have a 2005 Tacoma I bought in 2004.

Taco has either a 3.4 V6 or 2.7 V4. The 4.7 V8 will swap with some work but no Taco comes stock with a V8.

The older taco's had a 4.0 V6 option as well, in 2015 or 2016 toyota dropped it to up their fleet MPG

I've got a 2004 Tundra with the V8 and it's just slightly bigger than a Tacoma being an early 1st Gen.
He might have it mistaken as being a Tacoma.

However you could get a conversion kit and put a V8 in a Tacoma. I knew several guys that had this done and they were monsters!

Tacoma motor 2.7 is (I-4) inline...not V-4...There is a V-6 in 3.4 or 4.0....
