Big Bend questions..

Bamorhea, is a cool place to go, usually it is packed and there is a line to get in. The times we have gone, we had to wait in line for quite a while. The last time we went, we got in much quicker because there was a storm coming and they made everybody get out of the water, many left. That allowed us to get in, the storm did not last long, like a lot of storms out there. Very cool place, fed by natural springs, there are lots of catfish and other fish in the pool.

Planning to make a mid summer run to Balmorhea from my deer lease for a couple days.

What time do people start lining up to get in?

Will be there the 10th thru 13th. We should get a TBH list in case one of us runs into trouble

In my opinion, the road from Toyahvale to Alpine is worth taking

We saw all kinds of critters and the scenery is awesome too

Border Patrol check point south of Alpine surprised my son, think he was half asleep in back seat when all the flashing started
Apparently the car gets photoed going into check point

my buddy has lung cancer - he asked if wife and I would go with him and his wife to big bend since he has never seen it - he cannot hike. We plan to go to marfa first night and then to Lajitas for two nights - go to national park on a drive to see big bend - play golf the other day. Go home thru Marithon and stay at Gage hotel and have dinner at their restaurant. Hoping for an easy drive /trip to see big bend from a vehicle
