Summer of 2019 has been a rough one to say the least. Started off my 17 year old nephew lost his battle with cancer to only be followed up a few weeks later to the sudden passing of my wife at the age of 35. I’ve been just trudging through the past few months battling all kinds of demons. This has been the month that it seems all things will be ok. Started off with my son winning money at our church’s ranch rodeo. That pulled me out of what started as a real bad day for me. Fast forward to the last weekend and several buddies drug me to Hackberry Louisiana to do some trout fishing where we murdered the trout and reds for 3 days and had a blast like I never thought I would again. I go to work Monday feeling like a revived man. I’m going through my morning routine checking emails when I see one that looks like the same junk mail from Texas Parks and Wildlife asking me to call figured it was spam or something but luckily I didn’t delete it. Went back in this morning and revisited that email and decided to give them a call to only be told that I was a winner of the Whitetail Bonanza hunt. Looks like me and Hays will be headed to the Red River Breaks ranch on an all expense paid hunt.
