Thanks. Got the rack scored by Tommy Carruthers, a B&C measurer here in Denton and it made P&Y. I'm really pleased.

Mailed the docs this week.

Nice work! My Tundra made an appearance there at the end!! Dad & I had just clocked out when you pulled up & we checked out your buck for a minute or two. You did a lot of walking my friend. We did over 20 miles on bikes in those 4 days. Doubt I'd have the energy left to walk in and out on that last day. Raise a glass to normal water levels next year...

The famous Tundra! LOL

No doubt that lots of miles were walked and ridden over those 4 days. A very memorable experience, for sure!

Hoping to be one of the lucky few to be drawn again this fall.

Now THAT was worth watching. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to record and produce something that captured the essence of bowhunting and success in the mighty H. That was a very, very nice buck you took with bow and arrow! Congratulations on your hard work paying off. Please do it again next time you get picked. I'm going to go watch the hog hunting video now. Strong work Sir.

Thanks gents. I really waffled back and forth about how "real" to make the video as it pertains to the epic Hagerman hike in and out of your set but I figured no one wants to watch hour upon hour of me walking, being out of breath and wishing to the Good Lord above I'd gotten into better shape before the hunt!

Tried to figure out a good way to work in having both quads cramp up on me simultaneously while riding my bike out at the end of day-1 but the video of me laying in the dark feeling sorry for myself just didn't translate to the screen

Anybody have experience with the process for submitting a P&Y app?

It's been about six weeks. I figure I should be hearing from them shortly.

Anyone with experience?

No idea about hearing from P&Y...

On another note - what's the deal with youtube blocking the video?

When I tried to open it says:

"This video contains content from SME, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

Not sure about that LukeDuke. Checked it just now and was able to view through the video. Are you out of country or in the country?

Ok, I made some adjustments that may allow the video to play. Can someone test it out for me and see if SME is still blocking the video?

Thanks for the heads up about the blocked video, gentlemen.

Turns out that YouTube blocked the original 2015 Hagerman video due to a copyright claim on one of the songs I used.

After purchasing a couple of Creative Commons tracks I edited and Mary graciously re-post the updated video for me. I'm pleased with the result.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Thanks! Allot of guys and gals have poured hours of blood, sweat and tears into these hunts over the years. I'm just thankful to the Good Lord above that I had the opportunity to hunt and document the experience.

I'm glad to hear it, Michael. I'm tainted as I'll have the original version of the video in my head when I watch it from now on.

This is a fun (but sometimes painful) learning process for me. By the time the kids are serious hunters I hope to be a capable cameraman for them!

Thanks Doug.

For sure, the 3rd day is tough. More mental than physical to me. After 24 hours on stand the first two days, the alarm goes off in the wee hours of Sunday morning and your brain is giving you dozens of reasons to hit the snooze and sleep, sleep, sleep.

Glad I got out of bed and got back on stand.

Thanks again for putting on our qualifying shoot for the hunt!

One think that may not come across in the video is how the flooding impacted things. Some backup sets that I marked early in the year were torn up by the flood waters. This was a very unique situation for me. Not used to things changing so much in such s short time.

I can see that, Scott. The intent wasn't to advertise the "H" (and make it harder to draw) but rather to document my 2015 journey which was a "do over" of sorts as I got my arsss handed to me royally in Seg-C of 2014. I was completely unprepared. That was a low point for me, hunting-wise.

Next time I am fortunate enough to be drawn I'll look at doing a companion video showing the other, less sexy side of things that few folks without experience hunting the "H" can appreciate: the scouting in the muggy heat, mosquitos, ticks, snakes and skunks, the sore muscles and aching back, the stressing over reading sign correctly, the hours spent in the gym and pounding the pavement to get your fat rear-end in "H" hunting shape, agonizing over prioritizing sets, then re-prioritizing again and again, trying to predict the future on the wind, then Mother Nature has a fling with Murphy (of Murphy's law fame) that results in massive flooding which throws things on their head.....and all that is just a part of the prep before the hunt. The vid would need to show the hours spent just hiking and biking in the dark. The compressed period of sleep deprivation with 3:40 alarms, blah, blah, blah......I don't intend to be over dramatic but I'll bet that video would balance the others as folks come away with a "well that sucked" thought that may result in people looking elsewhere for an easier hunt.

Thanks for the positive comments. I look forward to sharing a cold one with you.
