Anyone been down to East Matagorda since the rain and temp drop? I'm planning to go this weekend for a Friday evening/Saturday morning hunt.

The split season doesn't open back up until tomorrow (Sat) morning, so you might not wanna post up pix of your hunt results from this evening

My brother is down at his place In chinquapin and he said he hasn’t seen this many duck in the marsh in 20 years. I headed down there in the morning to help control the population.

Zoom in on the pic and you can see the birds in the sky.

I’ve seen the birds move in so thick there overnight and have tens of thousands of birds in the middle of the bay when running out in the morning and then by lunch not a single bird. I think they use this area to stage before heading further south.

They move between the bay and freshwater further inland.

Those birds sit in lake Pelton and Kilbribe, due to the protection.
