Default Muzzle Breaks

I am having a 7 mag built with a sendero profile barrel. Does anyone have a muzzle break recommendation? I would prefer it to be seamless and match the contour of the barrel

My suggestion is a suppressor. 7mag with a brake is brutal even with hearing pro.

have you discussed this project with your GS ?

what were his recommendations , as most competent GS's will streamline the barrel contour then finish per your build sheet

good read on MB testing ... http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/0...es-field-test/

make sure your GS knows how to time a MB !

Guessing the suppressor does not require a muzzle device attachment?

I'm running the WTO on my 7. No bottom ports which is nice. Very similar to the Holland I had on my 300 win. Ran a shrewd on the 6.5-284 and you'll get a face full of sand and dirt on occasion. Ran Vais and some others. Really like the wto one best.

Hunting gun? If so skip the break.

The break I have for my sporter weight 7 mag hasn't been on the rifle in years

I don't use brakes on any of mine, because I don't want to have to walk around with ear plugs in my ears all the time while I'm hunting. I want to be able to hear. And then I don't want to shoot a gun with a brake on it without ear protection, because I want to be able to hear after the shot still.

My 7mag doesn't kick that bad anyway. I had a 7mm RUM that was brutal without a brake. I just sold it rather than braking it, because it was gonna be a hunting gun.

X 3 on the Vais

Alamo has put the Vais on 3 of my rifle builds and Vais has installed 2 for me.

Brakes will be very helpful in reducing felt recoil and muzzle movement. They do have pros and cons just like alot of things. It comes down to personal choice really. How can someone tell another it wonít work for them? Ihave several rifles equipped with Imafd a KDF style brake off my 30-378 Wby Improved and must have gotten everything perfect because i swear the rifle pulls away from the shoulder when itís fired

With most brakes, they are removable and can be replaced with a thread protector in the brake is taken off. POI might be affected when doing so and itís a good idea to fire a few rounds to confirm POI

KDF out of Seguin, TX

I've got one on a custom 7mm STW with a slightly heavier Barrel profile than a regular Remington Sendero, and it kicks like a .243. It's loud as a son-of-a.... but I want people around me to "know" when I shoot!

Benchmark makes one without holes on the bottom and would make the Sendero profile. West Texas Ordnance makes one without holes on the bottom but I was told it would not work on a barrel profile smaller than a 6.

I have several Vais on my guns now. He has one that is short and works good.

Snowy Mountain Rifle’s brake on my 30-378 and on one of my 6.5 Creedmoors. No top/bottom ports and an incredible reduction in felt recoil. Guys are awesome to deal with as well.....if you don’t mind shipping to Montana

The combined weight of a Sendero profile and a McMillan stock will absorb that recoil pretty well. I know because I have that setup, and it shoots comfortably without a break. My kimber .300 win mag mountain rifle on the other hand will kick the dog mess out of you!
