I've been using brush blinds for the last 4 year years at the Buttes. You have to make sure they are thick and very hard to see through with only a small shooting window if you are bow hunting. These deer are very much alert and they keep their head on a swivel.

THatnks for the advice. It might be a little hard keeping a 8yr old content sitting there but it’s better to get them out and not see anything than have them sit at home lol

Now I am not trying to be a know it all or anything so someone correct me if I am wrong but since TB is now apart of TPWD I believe there is certain regulations against trimming or cutting trees. I remember reading something in the public lands rule/regs book that said trees or limbs couldn't be cut down and any brush blinds were to be made with deadfall and deadfall only. That may only apply to certain public lands or may be an old regulation but just a heads up.

Thanks for the info guys. The weather is looking pretty good for next week. I may try to make it. What are the camping areas like? Just looking at the map I was thinking of staying at the campsite by 8.

Hi. New guy here so I can't post a new thread yet. I have questions about TBR. If someone would PM me that would be fine. No need in filling up this thread with my inquiry.

As long as the weather holds out, I'm thinking I may try to make a trip out there first part of next week. Hopefully late season and during the week it won't be too crowded. I'll probably camp at the camping area near unit 8 just from what I'm seeing on the map.

I'm planning on going Monday and staying a few days. Hopefully I won't need you, but even if it's an easy recovery I'll call you if you want to get a track in. I'll shoot you a PM.

That sucks. I actually changed my mind last minute and rented a cabin at Spring Creek Marina. Just down the road and hopefully I won't have to worry about my stuff there. I won't leave anything in the truck.
