I'm pretty sure it was light blue, but maybe I was just seeing things. The water temperature on the north side of the dike was 90. Surprisingly, it didn't feel that hot to the touch. My Dad & I went to the mouth of the discharge canal in August a few years ago and the water temperature was 105 ha ha!

I think we should have a friendly TBH bass tournament one weekend. We have the crappie together so why not a tbh bass tournament? I think it would be lots fun. Maybe Conroe or Rayburn? We could do a 1 day tournament or 2 day tournament on a weeend.

Here is the 10.25. Itís a horrible picture but I was by myself. I wonít initially lay a bass on the ground or any dry surface. The slime is a protective layer from bacteria. If your going to lay them down on something lay them on a wet towel.

I bass fish more that the law should allow; I got my grandson started Bass Fishing four years ago and he's hooked! He joined Lone Star Jr. Anglers when he was 12, then in High School he and his fishing partner started the first ever Burleson Independent School District Bass Fishing Club including two of the Burleson High Schools. This year they qualified to go to state and finished first place in the district.. I'm really proud of him. Tomorrow he's leaving for Sam Rayburn to fish a week..
If I'm not making knives; I'm bass fishing! I fished my first bass tournament in 1971 and that's a long, long time ago.

Very "off" year for me. Haven't got to fish as much as I would like to and when I did I spent more time looking at deep stuff preparing for basschamps than I did fishing. The wind on Saturday spoiled that plan. I think I've had 2 over 7lbs all year and that is a really bad year for me. In a funk, ready for bow season.

We bought them from Todd Overton. This was one of the last strings of the original Camelot Bells he spawned and marketed. They are now called the Lonestar Legacies. They are expensive but worth it.

Thanks! The key is bait fish and management of numbers. Anything 18Ē or smaller is removed. Either removed or relocated to another tank/lake. Iím hoping to break my PB at 12.75 this fall. That would be great. Pretty sure I had shake off this spring that would have done it. Managing a trophy bass lake is a lot managing deer for trophies

Iíve personally had a horrible year on LBJ. Canít figure her out. This past weekend my son and I (and other friends) were invited to fish a good friends private 110 acre lake near Palestine. He is going to drain it July 1 to start over. It is overpopulated with catfish and crappie and the bass fishing is good but not great. My son caught this 9.5# from a brush pile.

***Edit-cant get pictures to load. Ugghhh

My spring/summer time vice is smallmouth fishing. Iíll try to add some pictures as I go. Most of my fishing is fly fishing in creeks & rivers close to me. I do like to bass fish in the lake, but donít get to go very often because itís almost 40 minutes from me.

I have a friend who just bought a place that has camelot bass stocked. I'm trying to convince him that he needs to pull a bunch of small ones out. He is not a bass fisherman and has never had any interest in it.

You have to do it. We eat some and relocate the rest. It can be a pain but has to be done.

Sitting in first for rookie of the year and second in our 5x5 big fish contest. Hereís a few picks from my trips.
