No sir, this past weekend we were out and saw a few groups of long beards and none of them were fanned out or cutting up yet. Last year was about two weeks too early. This year, itís been so dry, but I think this rain will have them going just right for the opener.

Interesting what a difference an hour of travel time makes...last year, our gobblers were on fire opening weekend and four were killed with three hunters. I stopped hunting after killing mine knowing I had some folks coming in the next weekend. We were much slower the following weekend.....We were thinking it started early.

Not much action at our place on turkey last weekend. This weather may get it going.

i have heard amounts of .5" to 1.5" around town. My gauge at the house this morning had .5" in it and it was raining and rained some more. The gauge here at the nursery has just over an inch after this last shower. We are right by the football stadium on Knickerbocker. there have been some heavier showers southeast of town so maybe more that way.

Found a deer we have little history with. Main Frame 12 that we've been letting get older. This was his antler from 2 years ago at 3.5. We have walked countless miles lookin for this deers sheds and it ends up being 300 yards from deer camp 30 feet off the road! Driven by it a million times ha!

Not a bad weekend out west. Ranch ground is dry but most all spring browse is still real green. Owner told me that the last round of rain dropped over an inch. Deer for the most part looked rough; all are shedding there winter coat.

Friday found me sitting on a feeder in an attempt to kill a hog that had been rooting around the area. But instead of the hog showing I had an opportunity to kill a bearded hen...... and did. Then Saturday morning I was blessed to killed a real good gobbler. Not to mention the 54 degree temperature drop from Friday 7:30 p.m. to Saturday morning day break........yep a tad cool and windy.

Got lots of feed out and until next trip, God bless and best of luck to all.

Likely getting on a 7,000 acre place south of wall. There are some great deer and I haven't been this excited for a season for a while

Cottonseed prices still best in wall? I come through Rowena as well.
Who has the best corn prices at the moment?
