I still don’t spray down like I should and it has had an affect on my family. My aunt got Lyme diseases several years ago. It took months to find out what was wrong because the doctors ran every test besides that. My cousin has a blood disease because my aunt found out while she was pregnant. It’s not a joke. Prayers for you that have it and hope aggressive treatments are not needed. My aunt went from 150lbs to 85lbs before they caught it, something I’ll never forget.

That's some bad stuff for sure!! If you caught it early, hopefully you should get it knocked out. Many doctors here in the south don't really know how to treat Lyme disease either... If you don't feel better soon, I'd go find me a specialist, someone that knows what they are doing...

If you haven't already, clean the bite site and make DANG sure there are no tick parts still embedded in the bite site.

For you folks that want to remain scent free yet protect yourself from ticks/redbugs, get you some Sawyers (or other brand) permethrin spray and spray down all your pants, shirts and boots/shoes that you will be in the field with and let them dry. You can then just pack 'em away and wear them when you go into the field... This stuff is 100% effective. Once treated, your clothes can be worn, washed and reworn multiple times and will maintain their effectiveness. I re-treat after about 4 or 5 washings. You can buy spray cans at Academy and other places, but I bought a bottle of concentrate and a spritzer bottle and mix my own... It's much cheaper and it works like a champ.

No. The bite sight started to irritate me after day two. It was a a full week when the body aches and cold sweats started.

I to spray with permethrin spray, but I also treat my clothes with Ozone. I have read that the ozone kills the effect of the permethrin. So I guess it will be one or the other.

My MIL is battling a bad case of it. She has been fighting it for 9 years. I've known them for 10 yrs and she is nothing like she was the first year I knew her. Very bad disease and nothing to mess around with. She sees a specialist in Marble Falls that is the best in Texas. Praying for you and be glad you have a Dr that found it. Most won't even test for it. Scares me to death every time I find one on me knowing what my MIL deals with on a daily basis.

I dont know much about it other than what I have read here and there, but it seems like when it is caught early it is very treatable. It seems like the ones with major issues are the ones that werent diagnosed after a good bit of time. Best of luck to you. Hit it hard and fast.
