Flooded public lakes on the other hand, hunt it all day unless it is properly posted private at the current flood level
Be careful though. Some TRA lakes you cannot hunt past the pool level. If the lake is at 101 and the pool level is 100, you have to hunt at the 1ft or deeper level.

Pretty nice picture my buddy got of me on the walk out Friday morning. Not a lot of ducks killed but it was a good time.

Where is a good spot to find duck leases that have openings?

there is quite a few duck clubs in the houston area. However the prices are fairly steep, to the point if your not going to be hunting 30+ times a season your wasting money. I think the best bang for the buck for someone that is only going to hunt a handful of times a year is to do guided hunts considering most guides are $150-$200 per day.

You will get what you pay for. They range anywhere from around $1,200 on up to close to $5,000. Also, most of the clubs/leases are on the west side of town. East side seems to be all guided landed for the most part.

Kayak has been a game changer this season with the flooded lakes.
