Default Forecast says mid 70's for opening weekend

That should get some of us bow hunters motivated. 75 will be fur coat time after all this heat!

based on the farmers almanac and seeing leaves already falling from some trees I am expecting a colder than normal winter. I am ready for an opening weekend where shorts and flip flops are not my choice of hunting wear.

I don't have much faith in any 10 day forecast but right now it says a high of 75 with scattered rain for our area as well. I will certainly take that!

Says the same for my area. Will be a really nice change from the 90+ degree hunting Iíve had previous years. Especially since my pop up doesnít breath all that well, haha.

Mud, heat, and mosquitoes = no fun. See ya after the first cool front. I just refilled all my feeders and checked my stands this weekend. Lots of mud, sweat, and skeeters.

I will spend all next week in San Diego. Maybe a decent cool front will blow in after I return.

They cant predict 5 days out. What makes you think they can predict 10+ days out. The odds are in favor of a cool down but I wouldn't bet on it.

Plus, the mosquitos can be negated using a thermacell.

Yep, they have it in the low 80's here for opener but it will probably be in the 90's. Our deer wont care though as the rut will be wide open at my lease as it is every year opening weekend.

TWC gives a 15 day on mobile.... yes it changes... but it also stays the same. so ill fret about it until it changes for the better.

Knee high weeds. Mosquitos and chiggers. Corn not piling up yet but few deer on cams. Hogs cleaning up the corn. Ugh. The rain was good......but the rain sucks.

Actually it is the exact opposite. Good season would have been abundant spring rains and an extended drought from July-November.

We had a bumper crop of acorns last year. Ruined everything. Hardly any acorns on the trees this year. Hoping that keeps them coming to my food plots.

Well they already raised it in my area up to 84 degrees. Still better than 100 but not near as nice as mid 70's

Hopefully it won't keep going up!

And if you're in an area where properties around you shoot smaller bucks wouldn't you want acorns to "ruin" hunting? That way the bow hunters should have the advantage..Or at least the bucks may have a chance to grow bigger for the next year.

80s and rain for me it's looking like. Nothing but rain for the next 2 wks. As long as it isn't pouring I will be in the stand. Free scent control but blood trail will be tricky. Hoping it's light showers and drizzly.

It was 61 at the lease this morning and the high is 70.....if the temps are anything near that next weekend it will be a nice weekend regardless of what the deer are doing.
