    Melanistic Deer

    Just moved to Austin area and there are tons of deer roaming the neighborhood including at least 2 melanistic does.

      We hunted in Dripping springs and there was an 8 point there, we seen him all the time, but he was off limits.

        I've never seen one in person, and didn't even know they existed until joining the green screen last year...Would shooting one be one of the "Unwritten Rules" of hunting? Being that they're rare, people are mostly on the side of "Keep em alive".

            The lease we were on, the guy that owned the land let his daughter shoot it, it was a pretty neat looking deer, dark brown with white horns.
