Default TFSC week 23

Little different challenge.
The official shot will be at 3 yards from a step ladder or other elevated position where your upper body is over 6 feet high. Target is a quarter size circle in the center of a regular sheet of paper. I will sit on top of my 6' step ladder to shoot it.
The hitch is in the preparation.
Before you shoot the challenge shot you must take 5 shots at more than 20 but no more than twenty five yards. Then immediately go shoot the challenge shot. Closest to center of circle wins.

Forgot to mention the prep shots are to be taken standing on the ground.

So we get to take 5 warm up shots?

I'm all over that.

Well, when it stops raining I'm all over it.

Oh and the target has to be vertical. Just like on any other shot.

Are the prep-shots to be directed at the same quarter circle? Or just shoot them at some random point on target before attaching the paper with the circle for the ladder shot?

Straight low:

1-1/4" edge to edge.

1-45/64" edge to center.

Yeah. That's what I thought on that turkey target Saturday too.

Rick is there is a 90 degree angle of your arrow into the target?

I don't think so.

Looking at the picture I can see more angle than there is on the 5 warm up shots, but the camera angle makes it hard to tell how much.

I'm gonna guess from memory, and say it was probably less than 30 degrees tail up.

Am I missing something?

Rick

EDIT:
Ah I get it. LOL
Yes, I was setting on top of my 6ft ladder to take the shot.

No I knew you would get elevated. Just wondered if you put the target on it's back.

This shot simulates a shot at Fowler a ranch Saturday.
A bunch of longer shots and suddenly a short shot from the top of the tank dam on a turkey target. At that short range and angle the 12 ring almost disappears.

I figured you were inspired by that turkey shot from the dam at Fowler Ranch, but wasn't sure about the prep shots. But, yes, there were quite a few long shots, then the short, steep-angled one.

Edit: I believe I actually got a 10 on that (maybe the only one )

I just read the lay out again.

For some reason I thought it was 5 yards instead of 3.
That'll change the angle a lot I bet.

I'll do it again sometime later. (maybe this evening)
Right now I've got lots of tabs to build, and a daughter's car to fix.

If I'm building a tab it's gonna get expensive.

Shot warm-ups from 23 yards; ladder shot is 9/16" left of center point.
