How awesome is that! Clay is doin' Texas proud sir! You raised him right. It's going to be pretty exciting watching God's plan for him unfold these next few years! Also glad to see the last surgeries got rid of that big ol' contraption that was on his arm! My wife works in the Orthopedic OR, and she called it by its name when she saw it from the pics I showed her in this thread... said they were extremely uncomfortable and hoped he didn't have to put up with it for long. Glad to see it gone...
God bless you all Hoggslayer! Please keep us updated.
Thanks!

We've manage to keep the politics out of this thread so I'll post it somewhere else if I choose to. Everyone has done a great job and respected my original requests for positve prayers only for Clay.

Kudos to the president for coming and spending time with the kids.

Glad your son is doing well Hoggslayer. Ironic as it sounds, this might actually turn out to be a positive defining moment in his life. Of course, it's sad that the cost was so high and so tragic.

Good on you Clay. Stay the course.

Yes he is. He even got his old pellet gun out and shot it for a while today. He was worried he might have some anxiety about it, but he said it didn't bother him. I'm glad he is trying but I want him to take it slow.

Precious Lord Jesus, we thank You for the mighty work You are doing in this young man Clay, and we ask You Lord, please continue to give him strength AND wisdom to lead his classmates by being an example of what You can do if they will come to know You Lord. Make Yourself known through this brave young man. We lift him up to You as a powerful testimony of Your Love, Grace and Mercy! We ask You Lord to cover this school and community of Santa Fe, TEXAS with protection and bring them together for each other's support. Keep them strong and keep them safe. Give them peace as they work through each and every loss.
Lord we ask You to guide us all and direct us in the Right Way. Keep us all in the Center of Your Will, in Your powerful name Jesus we ask and pray, Amen.

Good news, Clay started PT and has gained about 10 degrees in range of motion in just a few days. He also went back to work and they gave him a $1.00 an hour raise.
Bad news, (depending on who you ask) he has about 5 or 6 different girls wanting to date him. Just hope he keeps his head on straight.

That's good to hear Jay. As far as the chicks, advise him to focus on rehab. If they just showed up its them looking for attention most likely. Prayers continue for continued healing and progress.

12 weeks until he can start working out. Anothet 2 weeks and he should have most of his range of motion back. He is determined to be back polevaulting before Christmas. I think he's planning on changing hands to ride bulls again. I hoping he will just give that up but he's stubborn.

Once rodeo gets in your blood it is hard to give up. Tell him you will buy him a roping horse if he will give up riding bulls . Longevity in roping anyways.

Glad to hear he has goals set. Goals will help him focus on rehabbing faster and getting him back to where he wants to be. I continue to pray daily for Clay and his recovery. Thank you for keeping us updated on his progress.

when I first saw about him being shot and Dena posting and stuff I didn't realize that I think we all went on the youth hunt together a few years ago right?

I had told my son about him and all that happened but neither of us realized it was someone we met and hunted with before until a few days ago. ( if I am remembering right- LSBA youth hunt 2-3 years ago )

Continued prayers....
