    Panhandle food plot?

We have a couple 1 or 2 acre plots we plant each year in wheat or Rye just outside of McLean, Tx. Just wondering if anyone is planting anything else in their food plots in the panhandle.

Last year we planted triticale and small mix of turnips, clover and a small amount of alfalfa seed
The alfalfa usually won’t last long usually it’s grazed down to ground level by late October but the triticale last well into the next spring
We’ve tried several different seed mixes some better than others depending on what time of season ( October thru January) you want to hunt more.
Also you probably know lots of food plot success up there depends upon the rain
I like rye for that area it seems to do well and the deer eat it well through season

      Triticale does well for us.
