Mouflon ear tag

Has anyone ever seen a mouflon with a little white tag in his ear that is stamped TX with US in a circle on it and a number?

It maybe that it's a small rectangle but it's definitely not a domestic sheep I don't think.

Metal tag? I am sure it’s a scrapie tag of some sort. Sheep has probably been the though a sell barn.
