I would assume just for those with the long actions because they donít even have an expected date on those actions yet. The short action bodies are there and they are just waiting on the bolts. Doesnít hurt to ask though.

Another deadline has passed with no actions or updates. We will begin working on some "plan B" options tomorrow for those still waiting like we did for the standard long action guys. I have no doubt the actions will eventually get here, but I won't even guess when at this point.

Dang with all the troubles y'all have had with the suppliers, I'm guessing this may be the end of the group buys.

Or a re-evaluation of certain suppliers.

I donít work at APR or know any of those guys well (beyond having them build a few rifles, etc.). Iím guessing that there have been some guys that have been upset with the delays and have spoken up to APR about it but the root cause of the problem isnít the buyer or the manufacturer. The root cause of the issues as far as Iíve been able to tell has been one (or two) suppliers that couldnít deliver the way that they said they could. Thatís just bad business for that supplier because now a VERY LARGE group of their potential client base has experienced or witnessed the debacle that is their (the supplier) inability to follow through.

I just don't understand how the supplier can keep telling you for 3 months they will have their product in a week, and not deliver.

Will anxiously wait though for a quality piece of work, regardless! Just like a kid in the candy store.

I think Robert has done an excellent job of keeping everyone in the loop and informed of the situation.

I just got an update from Curtis. They are saying the biggest delay is due to one missing part. The roller bearing for the cocking piece did not arrive on schedule. They are expecting them to deliver next Thursday. Once they get here, we will be able to move forward on the short actions we already chambered a couple weeks back(9 were assigned and chambered but still missing bolts). The balance of the "complete" regular short actions should be coming with them(we are still missing 6). The short mag receiver bodies are not completed at this point either(we are missing 5). They are expected to complete by the time the others are ready.

Thank you for the update. I gave my FFL all of your information. So they should be reaching out to you. I know mine isn't ready yet, but I wanted to get the ball rolling.

Thanks for the update! More optimistic now that they have stated the issue versus just giving another ETA. Just hoping everything will be figured out with enough time to have it dialed in for hunting season.

It happens all the time. I promised someone a 3 week turn on a product that I normally get in a week. 5 weeks later we missed their deadline by a week.

There is a difference in one missed deadline and 12 missed deadlines on the same product. They told APR next week for 12 weeks.

Seeing the cage in the back ground I wonder if Alamo will do a Police edition for those who are LEO and are looking for a good patrol rifle.

So here's this week's update. We received a box with 6 bolts in it today??? There were supposed to be 9. It was not enough to cover all the ones we already have chambered, but I guess it is some level of progress. I left several messages with Chase today and have not heard back as of yet. I'm hoping there is another box coming that has the remaining bolts and complete actions in it as I was told we would receive all of them at the same time, but have no confirmation or tracking info at the moment.

Thanks for the update Robert. Is it possible to see if mine is included in those 6 if I called up there? I just got drawn for a mid October management hunt in Southwest Texas that Iíd love to take this rifle on.

Looks like I am on the list of those still waiting. Doubt I will be purchasing anything from Curtis again unfortunately. APR being extremely upfront about everything and going out of there way to try to get these things done has been great though. Look forward to having y'all build another rifle possibly in the near future.

I agree man, Alamo has been nothing but 100% straightforward and have done their best to take care of us. Iíll be in on the next build for sure, if not before the next one. Iíll refrain from spending any of my money on any Curtis products, they clearly have better things to do than deliver on deadline after deadline.

Ok guys, got some more news and a little more progress. We were supposed to get another shipment today. I didn't even post it given the past results.....and sure enough it did not deliver. That said, I actually received a tracking number saying that we will be getting the remaining bolts for the short actions already chambered AND the 6 short action standards that will complete that portion of the TBH builds. You should see those builds surfacing throughout next week.

So where does this leave us? The long action Mags were already completed and this will complete the standard short actions. We gave some folks an alternative on the long action standards and most took advantage of it. There were a couple that wanted to wait it out and I have no update for those folks, nor do I expect one anytime soon given the track record concerning those. That leaves us with the short action magnums unaccounted for....... I have no update, but we are offering the same alternative(Lone Peak Razor)in an effort to get these builds in your hands before the rifle opener. Lone Peak quoted us 4 weeks to deliver which will slide them in right at the finish line. You short action mag guys should be getting a call tomorrow explaining the option. That's what I have for now.

Thanks,
Robert

Robert,

I'm one of those that took advantage of the alternative Lone Peak Actions. I received the rifle yesterday and can't tell you how pleased I am with it. If this rifle shoots as well as it looks, I will be ecstatic. Our bow season opened last week and we have a hurricane bearing down on us, so I'm not sure when I'll get to fireform some brass and work up some loads for this rifle. Hopefully I'll get some ready before our rifle season opens in mid-November. All of my reloading equipment is down at my brother's place in North Carolina.

If any of you are in the lucky group that can change over to a Lone Peak then do it. Iíve got a short action in the build that Iím still waiting on. If this had been a Lone Peak from the beginning then Iíd have done at least one more rifle. As it stands, it looks like I MIGHT get my short action this next week with the Curtis action. Iím sure that it is a fine action but if you ordered a short mag and can switch......do it. You wonít be disappointed. I wish I could have.

I went with the Lone Peak for the .270wsm. Should have it in approx. 6 weeks.
Will have the Curtis 7-08 in a few weeks.

Alright, more progress was made today! We DID receive the missing bolts AND the remaining short action standards. Those are now rolling. For the short action mag bolt face guys that chose the Lone Peak actions, they were ordered today and those builds are top priority the moment they arrive. It was a good day

Got the call from Garrett today. Going with the Lone Peak for my 300wsm. Gave up on the Curtis deadlines coming and going.

Thanks to APR for a high quality alternate.
