Stuff is amazing. I had it on a car once. It blocked out something like 90% of all the heat. At most places they will have a slide to show you conventional tint compared to it under a heat lamp used to keep food hot at restaurants. Night and day difference.
I saw now that some tint places will tint your windshield with a clear version and it blocks out all the heat coming in the windshield.

We sell window tint at my shop and it is defiantly worth the money. Especially if you plan on keeping you truck for a couple years. Will help save the wear and tear on your interior as well as keep this nasty Texas heat out. Its night and day difference between the ceramic and standard film.

The only way I think it makes a difference is if you go with the clear on the windshield too.

Where do you find this ceramic tint? Do places that do conventional tinting also do ceramic?

I was looking into this also last week.
Have a place right next to the neighborhood that is rated very high and looked into the options.

Regular Tint, Carbon Tint, and Ceramic Tint are the main choices and after a bunch of research everyone is saying Ceramic is by far the way to go when it comes to reducing heat. Just so happens to be by far the most expensive too lol

My wife swears the ceramic is better than non. I have illegal tint on mine and hers is legal. Mine is not ceramic and hers is, I will say that her SUV does seem to block more heat than mine. We do not do anything to the front windshield.

I did ceramic on my F250. Did windshield too. Absolutely LOVE it!! Makes a huge difference on internal temp. Think I paid around $400 for all 4 doors, back and windshield??

Thanks guys! Lots of good info! Iím looking to do all windows and windshield. Iím waiting on quotes now. I was guessing the 400-600 range. I have been wondering if it would pass inspection with the windshield being tinted looking for 80 or 90%. Iím in the DFW area (frisco) looking if anyone has had work done. I did see one GP shop.

Texas is 70% front window max. If you don't go too dark on your side windows, the front will never look tinted.

It used to be a big deal to get ceramic tint, not so much anymore now that it is so common. Get ceramic for sure. Theres really not any reason to not go with ceramic.

There is a substantial difference in the ceramic. I just did my 2014 F 250 and it's incredible. Wish i would have done it when i bought it.

unless the ceramic is rated different I don't think you can have ANY color tint on the front. And it was 30% on the front driver and passenger anything behind that didn't matter.

Stick the sticker to your shirt a few time to pick up some lint and stick it on. No razor needed to remove and it will still last all year.

This sounds about right. I want to say I was quoted 390$ for those windows and then another 125 for the sun roof.

I can decided whether itís worth doing the sun roof or not.

I just did it all with my new Chevy. Windshield in clear And limo in the crew cab
It seems noticeably cooler, even in this hot stretch. I also did the ďeyebrowĒ.

Does anyone have issues with the ceramic tint on their windshield while wearing polarized sun glasses. I have heard it causes rainbows that can be annoying.

Boss Tint in Rockwall did my F250 about a year or 2 ago. Ceramic all the way including clear on the front. Makes a big difference. Hes a vet and does a vet discount if you are. Its also guarantied for life and can be repaired at other 3M places if need be

I got ceramic on my F250 in July and it’s been great. The brand I got is called Llumar. If you are in the Austin area, give The Best Window Tint Shop a shout. They are in Cedar Park and have pretty much the best price around. Under $300 to tint my Crewcab with their top of the line ceramic. Have some guys on another forum I frequent go there and they’ve been just as impressed I am. Also comes with warranty.

I have ceramic on my truck and to be honest I can't tell the difference between ceramic and regular tint but it wasn't that much higher. They will hold up a regular tinted window to a heat lamp and then the ceramic to the same lamp and you can feel a difference but I can't really tell the difference in my truck.

Mayhem, yes you can add it to your house. I am actually looking to add tint to all my windows soon and get rid of the solar screens.
