Congrats to your son that is a heck of a deer. We hunt in Mason county too and I can say the bucks I have on camera are the biggest I have seen this year.

This deer was hard for us to decide on, I saw him the first time a couple of weeks ago and passed him, he was in great body condition and really fooled me to thinking he was younger than he was. Friend of mine that's hunts with us saw him Friday and was convinced he was older than I thought, we looked back over last years photos, found the deer we thought he was and realized we had him at 5 last year, so we green lighted him. He cruised by my son Sat. afternoon 88 degrees and all. Interestingly enough his teeth show more wear than even 6.

That's an awesome buck! We hunt out that way and kill some good bucks. We try to feed as much as we can and shoot culls and does. We try to not kill a trophy buck until at least 5 years old. It works. If we could get a few neighbors on board with age thing we would be golden. Sounds like you guys are doing it right! Congrats on a beauty.
