    First Deer!

So this past weekend my son was up to bat for the first time ever on a deer. He handled the gun and situation like a pro.

At 8:40 am opening Rifle Season this guy walked out and started circling the feeder, I held him while I checked him because he is borderline AR. I went ahead and turned him loose but knew it would be very close. He flipped the AR15 to fire and I told him when we was ready to squeeze slowly. A few seconds go by and nothing. I said "ok son, when you are ready go ahead". "I can't" he says. I think to myself, oh no he is shaking or froze up. Very next thing he says. "The feeder pole is blocking my shot". I tell him, "ok wait for him to move a bit". Few seconds go by and he inches forward. "Now I got him" he says! Boom!!!! and the buck jump kicks and heads to the woods. I know that is a good sign so we hug and he goes nuts!!!!!!!

We gave the buck about 30 mins because it is a .223 and wanted him to lay if shot was a bit off. Buck made it 40 yards and piled up. The guys at camp talked me into letting him shoulder shoot his first so I am glad they did. Zander put a perfect shot right in the V at 110Yards. Could not be more proud of him!

That evening I thought his head was going to explode. 20plus guys all talking his "monster deer" up. Its an experience neither him nor I will ever forget.

    Very blessed and thankful!

First shots are waiting in the blind and view
