The problem is patience for me......

I also am a big fan of the tilapia, my opinion is get advice before buying though. They are very temperamental to water temperature but a great way to feed you lake.

Good luck and enjoy the ride!!
Appreciate it the advice. Patience is definitely a challenge, but the lifetime of the lake is the goal, not the first few years. As I understand it the bass going in will all be fry.

Thanks. Was out there this weekend to do a little more work. I'll get the pics up in a few.

I have one of these. You could probably make them last a couple of hours if you have oxygen . Throw a couple hand fulls of water softner salt in the water as well.
Appreciate your advice. The wind was howling this weekend and we worked harder to put the kids on fish than expected. Didn't get a chance to attempt a bait transfer.

Had a chance to do head out and help a little more on the lake this weekend. The water level had come up about a foot from the rains the week before, and it was pouring when I left on Sunday.

They'd gotten the roof trusses up on the dock before I got there, but we got wire run, drug a bunch more brush, added a few laydowns to the stumps, started on one of the remote fishing piers, and added a culvert to the road that leads to the lake. Was pretty sore yesterday.

Snapped a bunch of pics. Y'all might get bored of seeing brush pile, brush pile, brush pile, but hey that's what I'm good at.

Two covered slips, room for a third boat, and most importantly swimming area for the kids in front.

View of the hump right by the main dock. Covered in rock on the North side and brush/stumps on the South. An easy cast from the dock.

View down the **** from main dock. Seems like the more brush we add the smaller the brush looks.

Big stump we found on site and dragged in. Should be in 5' of water at the base and 2 on top of it.

Start of one of the small fishing piers. I think there will be 3 of them. Will hold fish feeders for the forage fish and be a great place for the kids to catch 'em easy.

There's 5-6' of water left to fill this thing up. Lots of open water left.

Moving down the North bank. This hump has a couple foot drop off on it now. Water should be 3-4 feet above the top of the hump with 8-10 feet to the dropoff. Hoping that hanging log is a honey hole.

You can see the log hanging over the deeper water here.

Tried to make sure he left a hump around stumps that were going to be in deeper water.

One of the channels cut that runs all the way into the shallow area. Good area for the bass to travel and doesn't hurt that you can get the boat in and out pretty easily.

How they did the "laydowns" on the stumps. Hope the big girls feel comfortable here.

Paris. I will probably end up with a1 acre pit instead of a lake, but we shall see.

You can do a lot with an acre. We fish a little pond in Celina, TX that can't be more than an acre and it is really good. He started out with a cup shaped bowl, but we added just a few rock piles and some brush and it grows good fish.

                            Good luck with yours.
