Default Cedar flags

I took a day off from work yesterday and spent my time piddling around with some wood. I made these American and Thin Blue Line flags.

Honest (good or bad) thoughts on the blue line are welcomed. I initially used some blue wood stain for the blue line, but it was just too dark. So I begrudgingly spray painted the line with a lighter blue. I think itís okay, but I really prefer the stained look. I think next time, Iíll thin the blue stain to make it lighter.

Just an idea, if you could get your hands on some weathered wood that has turned grey, it might look blue relative to the black on both sides of it.

The American flag looks great

Looks great. What is the size? What did you you for the stars, a stencil? I was going to do this with some old barn tin but havenít come across a good way to do the stars.

I really like them. You might try to distress it to make the wood look more rustic and old. Beat it up beforehand to maybe give it some texture. Use a Dremel, wire brush, grinder, chains, hammer...you get the idea.

Well done.

I'm with the majority. I like them all, but the last one is my favorite. Once my shop gets built later this year (if it stops raining) I hope to use old reclaimed barn wood and make a decent sized one to hang on the wall.

Those look great. Nice work. If you don't mind me asking, what color stains did you use on the last one?
