Did you know that Franklins learned how to cook BBQ from Louie Muellers?

Yes. They had a fire in 2015 but James rebuilt on the south end of the property

Bob's when it was still in the old shack was the best I have eaten to this day. I grew up in Henderson late 70's thru the 80's.

A lot of good places around. I like Mumford's in Victoria.

Not a city guy by any means, but was quite impressed with Pecan Lodge (Deep Ellum, Dallas). Also the Shed BBQ in Abilene. A few of my favorites. I've had Franklin's, Cooper's, Hard 8's, etc.

We went to Louie Mueller's this summer and I prefer Hutchins in McKinney. It sure wasn't worth the 1:10 wait in line with no air-conditioning.

I'm partial to Truth, either one Brenham or Houston. Also really like The Pit Room in Houston.

I agree It's ok, but I prefer Taylor Café. I will have to check out Hutchins if I ever make it up that way.
