Default FSC week 23

Ok the shot is very basic, but here's the twist. I know most of us own more than one bow. So, for this shot use a different bow than you normally shoot, preferably the one you haven't shot in the longest amount of time!! A standard sheet of printer paper with a quarter sized dot in the center. 1 shot at 15 yards, closest from edge of shaft to center of dot wins. If you only have one bow, just shoot it, no worries. And Rusty, you're good to go with your normal bow too if your others are heavier since you're still recovering from you surgery. Just post up what bow you used, and put it in the pic with your target. I'm going to shoot it with my Samick Sage, haven't shot that bow in a LONG time!!

Plenty of room to beat me. Right off the edge of the paper to the left.

Good elevation though. Did you use an arrow from the widow?

I did. This bow actually shoots the same arrows pretty well, but since I got my Widow my other bows don't see much action.

Thought maybe the left hit was because of a spine difference.

Here's mine with my Sarrels Blueridge. The last time I shot this bow was March 20 when I killed a couple rabbits with it.

I didn't get to shoot the FSC for the last two weeks, so I thought I would get this one done today while I had a bit of time.

60" / 52# @ 28" Pat O'Brian Badger longbow. One heck of a fine shootin little bow. Probably around 55# - 56# at my draw.

Hex laminated ash / hardwood footed wood arrow @ 570 grains.

29/32" straight left of center.

Rick

Thanks !!!!
I was kinda, but not overly surprised.
This little bow is a shooter, and I haven't forgot how to shoot it.

I shoot it just like I shoot my recurve (sting walking & all), but it's a lot slower than the curve. I just guessed, and cut the string crawl in half compared to what I do with my recurve, and it was right on.

Funny! I strung the ol' grizzly and looked at this thread and laughed! So I took the shot. After Mr. Barbee I didn't see much point in measuring. Here it is

Good shootin brothers! Glad to see a better turn out than the last one, already more shots on the 1st day than the total of all of last week! Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Rusty, I was gonna shoot last week's shot that you called. I really liked the call.
Had the target printed out, but just got to busy with other things.

I decided to give it a go this week.
I ran out of computer paper, so i improvised with some cardboard. Still used the quarter size target.
1 3/4" from center. Turned out to be my best shot of the day

Turned out to be 1.5" from edge of shaft to center dot. Not near enough to knock Rick off the mountain but it made me happy.

Checkmate Crusader, 53 @ 28". It was a little rough on the shoulder, had to "warm-up draw" bout 8 times to get to where I felt I could anchor solid. Funny, what happens is, when I get enough pressure on that left shoulder, the elbow starts to collapse to "protect" it. Don't worry, didn't do any harm brothers! I just really had to make a conscious effort to keep from collapsing with the extra pounds. Actually shot it bout 10 more times, the next 4 were from an inch, to 1 3/4", then I started falling off a bit ... Oh, been prob since early deer season 2016 since I've shot my Ol Checkmate. Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Just for a reality check, I shot this again this afternoon.

Measurement is 1-3/4" a little high & right.

This little bow is a shooter. I may throw some broadheads on a couple of these arrows, and hunt with it a little this year.

I went out of town and missed doing this one; looks like it's Rick's call for Week 24. Lot of good shooting, though -- especially for back-up bows.

I've been working my tail off the last several days, and forgot all about this.
I'll get one for this week posted tonight sometime.

Sorry for slacking.
