Looks like these guns are what the Rem 788 was back in the day.
A cheaper priced gun that shoots great.

Very nice shooting and it looks like the Ruger is a very accurate rifle.
Ruger gives a lot for the $.
Question...?
Did you break in that rifle first? Like shooting 20 or so rounds and clean between each shot?
Or take to the range and start shooting?

I cleaned it when I got it, shot 2 boxes through the it at the range, got it sighted in. Then cleaned it after that. Shot another 5 boxes through out hunting season and just cleaned it the second time. Still scary accurate. No "break in" is required.

How are the triggers on these?

Any aftermarket trigger options?

Sounds like a nice low cost option

These are budget guns. But, upgrades are out there like SS bolt shrouds instead of the factory plastic, MDT LSS aluminum chassis instead of the factory stock, Bolt handles from Glades armory, etc.

My stock minus the brake I have on it. Here's my 100 target 2 3 shot groups.

At 400 off the bipod

600 off the bipod (holes with the 6 on them)

I did my shooting today like I would be hunting antelope. No bench rest or bags.

The weight alone from that muzzle brake reduces recoil. That thing is huge for a cartridge burning 40grs of powder.

Yea it's a lil overkill, but the recoil is non existent. It helps for long range shooting i.e. My antelope at 751 I doped into the wind to much first shot I watched hit behind him in the scope. I adjusted and second shot was money.

Has anyone shot one of these in Stainless? Are they as true as the blued?

LuBowhunter is yours a 6.5.

How does the 30-06 perform in this rifle?

OK guy's I gotta as as this is intriguing me. What's the barrel profile of the Ruger Predator compared to the 700 AAC-SD. I'm looking for a suppressor ready 308. I plan on handloading to get the best out of the rifle but have been on the fence between these 2 rifles. I will be hanging a Sandman-L on the rifle. Just curious as to barrel profile difference.

After hearing a discussion on the Creedmoor cartridge and reading a thread on here, I started thinking more about a new bolt gun. Thanks to this thread, I'm determined to pick one up after Christmas. I just watched two videos of people pushing them more than a mile!!!! One guy had $650 in his setup with the Ruger rifle.

I have 556 ranch and a 6.5 Creedmoor predator that are both shooters. I had the 6.5 shooting sub MOA out to 300 yards in less than a box of ammo. I cut the spring on the ranch trigger so it is pulling 2 lbs. and the 6.5 I put a Timney trigger that is pulling 1.5 lbs. I just can't say enough about these Ruger Americans! Oh and I think the felt recoil is the same on both rifles lol

The AAC-SD is a fat cow if you ask me. I have one in 300BLK and it weighs a freaking ton.

Only reason I would go with the 700 would be availability of upgrades and accessories for the 700 platform. It's still a toss up from what I'm seeing regarding the ruger predator

I don't mind the factory stock with the short barrels like my 18" 308 and 16" 300 AAC.
