Default First Full Custom!!!

After talking it through MANY times with Robert and Jason at Alamo Precision finally settled on a 6.5 Creedmor. Went back and forth between a 260AI, 6.5 Creedmor and 6.5-284. But ultimately settled on the Creedmor for ballistic performance and availability of factory match ammo at reasonable prices. I am still new to hand loading and have little spare time to load as it is so the Creedmor was a good choice for me!

Build Specs:
Curtis Custom Axiom Action
Bartlein Sendero Barrel w/Straight Skip Fluting
Harrells Gill Break
McMillan Game Hunter - KUIU Verde Hydro Dip
Timney Calvin Elite set a 2.25lbs
Curtis Custom DBM

Have a Nightforce SHV on the way but mounted a Vortex HS-T on it to see how it looks. Sitting on a Harris bipod.

Thanks for looking! Will post a range report after I have a chance to take it out!

That Curtis action is butter smooth! 3 lug and 60 bolt throw!
I'm in love!

Great looking rig.

I have plans for that action and barrel combo but life has put it on the back burner for a couple of years.

Looking forward to a range report.

Sweet gun.

How do you like that Vortex HS-T?

I am thinking about putting one on a Creedmoor that I put together. I would like a Nightforce but that ain't happening for a while. At least not while my daughter and all my money are going to Texas State.

Man, nice looking rig! A buddy of mine loaded up on the actions when they were $700-$750 when launched and said they are great actions (I haven't taken the time to look at one). I don't know what they sell for now, but their initial offering was a great price!

I like it alot for the money, I have two of them!

Pretty decent glass and well built. I notice the biggest difference in low light situation between it and higher end scopes like the Nightforce and Zeiss.

No doubt it will, as long as I do my part!

I have a 7 Mag they built me on a Remington 700 action that shoots consistently .5 MOA as long as I don't blow it!

Jstanton,

Thanks for choosing us for your build! Love the way this one turned out. Let us know how you like running that action. My prediction....... it's gonna be hard to go back to a 90 degree bolt throw

You guys have made me a customer for life! The fit and finish is amazing! Believe me, I sing your praises to just about anyone who will listen to me.

This was my second build, the first was a Maverick in 7mm Rem Mag built on a Rem 700 action. I love that rifle and it is a great Elk setup but this new action though is miles ahead of everything else I've got!

For anyone who hasn't felt one of these Axiom actions I encourage you to stop by Alamo Precision and put hands on one. I gaurantee it will be at the top of your list for your next build! 3 lug, 60 bolt throw and smooth as silk!!!

Now the hard part is figuring out what to build off of it next!!! Thinking lightweight carbon fiber something or other!
