Default Longest shot to date

Made a trip up to the lease with the old man for the weekend and decided to stretch out the legs on the 257 wby on some bacon.

The shot was a little later then I'd like but that's why I upgraded to the swaro and felt comfortable enough with my rest to give it a whirl. 402 yards later she only made it 50 yards.

I'll admit the speed of the 257 makes the shot easier then it appears however 400+ yards wasn't imaginable for me a few years ago so it's a neat feat to accomplish.

Set up is a Remington 700 cdl with the wood stock exchanged for a skim bedded B&C. Timney trigger, Swaro Z3, and a crux ark30 on the end.

View of the fancy set up-

The bacon that met its demise-

Good shot! Wow that hog has a lot of Russian boar in her. Did y'all notice the length of her nose/ head?

Yes sir.

Majority of our pigs are like that.

The big boars will have the mane on the back and everything

Excellent. I love popping critters at longer ranges suppressed. The delay in the "thud" is pretty cool sounding.

I noticed the same thing, man what a snout. Congrats on the shot. I understand the usefulness in the stock exchange, but I can't make myself give up the wood.
I know nothing on the ballistics of the 257, what kind of drop did it have at 400 Yards?

I'm zeroed in for 300 yards (3" high at 100")
So 400 yards is roughly 6-7" of drop
