Snake bite or ??

So my lab/Pyrenees has a bad looking spot on his hind leg where it looks like he was bitten by something. Does anyone have an idea of what may have caused this? I can only see the one hole and not two so I’m thinking it’s probably not a snake bite? It’s swollen and has yellow **** below the surface of the skin and he seems to have a fever. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Our experience with snakebites on our dogs is that they swell up like a balloon. Hope your pup gets to feeling better.

Yes. Probably need to incise that and see what’s going on.

Looks like bot fly to me too, but as mentioned its too early. To be sure put a glob of vasoline on it. The worm needs to breathe and will come to the surface. You can grab it with tweexers and pull it out gently.
