Texting unknown people on good luck, congrats, etc.

I noticed there have been a few requests for members to text a friend, family member or coworker on an achievement.

    Is this normal now?

I applaude someone wanting to receive hundreds of texts from people they barely know or not know at all.

As for me, I could not do that to a friend, family member or coworker.

Am I wrong for thinking this???

Congrats to the Marine leaving this week.

I understand but sometimes people in times of life changes, big acheivements, etc. some people want privacy.

        Just My opinion.

I just would not want people I dont know blowing up my phone on whom I dont know.

When I was in the hospital on my birthday, my wife posted my number. I think I got 73 texts.

It brought a tear to my eye. I loved having my TBH brothers making my birthday something better then a hospital bed.

So don't post a thread asking for a text blow up. Pretty simple. Just curious, but when is your birthday if you don't mind me asking?

In my opinion, I think people are crazy posting other people's cell phone number on the Internet for the world to see, especially their own wife/girlfriend. Sure it is a great gesture and there are a lot of great people on here, but there are also thousands of people that nobody on here knows plus an unknown amount of people that just lurk. Eventually, if it hasn't already happened, somebody will start receiving inappropriate texts.

I agree with you, every time I see one of those request I think that it's kind of strange and that I wouldn't do that or want that done to me.

It's all in good fun, don't remember anyone getting upset about it. Now when cat facts or free chickens on Craigslist get mentioned it's a whole different ball game.

Not asking for a text blow up.

Just asking why someone would give a family members phone number to people they do not know.

I just think it is odd IMO. Oh well
