There's a couple places on Corps land that I'm looking at maps of, that seem like they'd be ALOT easier to paddle to than to walk to. Anyone know if there's restrictions on accessing Corps land by water rather than the "hunting access points" on their maps?

I know boat access at Amistad is allowed for all areas and area 4 is boat only. I think the best bet is to contact the headquarters where you plan to hunt and ask them to be safe.

as far as i understand there are no restrictions but i would call the office of the lake that you are going on to make sure, every time i call they are real nice and helpful.

Went ahead and sent an email to the Corps office asking about that. I'll let you know what I find out. It sure would help with the work load of getting something out if I could pull of a successful hunt. Maybe even help to get back to less pressured areas.

i use a canoe on corps land all the time. with much success in the past years. go for it. beats walking and dragging. and you get away from the crowds too.

For anyone interested, the response that I got from the Corps was this.
