Oh, also... I didnít do Sac justice while I had her! Shot her almost daily along with my go to bow. I was getting real confident with her here towards the end, but didnít take her huntin with me as much as I thought I would cuz, to be honest, I couldnít shoot her as well as my own personal bow. It made it difficult for me to carry her huntin when I wasnít 100% confident I could kill in my sleep with her. Now... I did shoot those arrows in the earlier pic no doubt, but I couldnít do it as consistently as I would like. And in her defense since it was bow season, I didnít take as much time to get good with her! But... the last few days, Iíve really been threading the needle with her, and would be plenty confident with her in the tree! So, go figure, now Iím slamming with her, and itís time for her to go! I hope Bowtecmike does her justice better than I did. Sorry I let yíall down guys! But my days consist of work, hunt, sleep, and repeat. So I didnít squeeze in enough time to understand the way she shoots. But... if Bowtecmike donít speak up... maybe thereís still time! Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

You did not let anyone down Rusty. This is not all about the kill. If someone happens to be successful hunting with this bow, that is just icing on the cake!!!! This is more a way to bring us TBH trad guys all together, and to get to know one another a little better!

Glad you had fun with her, and I wish the best of luck to bowtecmike in his time with her!

Man I love going through and reading these. Jan 2012 is when this started and it's still going. I keep my name out of the hat until I've had a chance to take a game animal with my current bow. Then I'm in line if it's ok with ya'll.

I sent my addy to Bisch last night. Excited to get the bow and wouldn’t have dreamed that I’d be first in line. My plan is to try and dust some pigs with it while it’s in my possession. I’ll work on a bio this week and post it once I like it.

Perhaps it would help to repost her specs so the participants can be more prepared when she arrives as far as arrows are concerned.

SHORT VERSION:
I’m a pastor that has gone from hunting with an AR to building my own longbows and plan to stick some critters with this one.

LONG VERSION:
Sacajawea landed safely this morning so I will try and write up a short bio. My name is James and I live in a small town called Meridian. I’m an associate pastor at a church and am responsible for teaching the teenagers the Bible and leading the church’s music. I love my calling and have been in full time ministry for going on 20 years.

My love for hunting started early in life in another small town in southeast Texas along the Neches River. I grew up mainly small game hunting for squirrel and rabbit but occasionally I would be invited to sit in a box blind to hunt for deer. My family spent a fair bit of time each year catfishing at lake Livingston and I loved that as well.

Throughout my early adult life I spent quite a bit of time fishing along the coast in Bridge City before moving to Fort Worth for 5 years. In FW I started getting into firearms and traded a guitar for an AR-15 (One of those real dangerous bushmasters.) and started doing some occasional pig hunting.

Moving to Meridian was like going home. I immediately found some landowners who were more than happy to let me kill pigs around their houses and I ended up building a custom AR in 6.5 Grendel to do the job.

After killing who knows how many pigs with an AR a teenager in my group got me into the compound bow scene. I devoted a lot of time into learning to tune a bow and shoot with proper form. To the point where I was taking shots on animals that we 30-40 yards away. It honestly began to feel less sporting.

I had purchased an old Hoyt/Easton compound for $25 and began to read about warfing it into an ILF recurve riser. I successfully completed that project and began to shoot regularly. I eventually found a killer deal on a Hoyt Satori that I couldn’t pass up. It was in my blood by this point and I began to successfully kill pigs regularly with the recurve.

That’s when I came across the Bingham Projects website.

I’ve always loved woodworking and have built a couple of solid wood electric guitars so I thought I’d give bow building a shot. I settled on the tdlb and ordered the all in one kit and started building. My first bow turned out ok but the riser snapped after several thousand shots. Undeterred I have now built a second set of limbs that turned out fantastic and have built several risers that have turned out nice as well.

I really wanted to join the list so that I could shoot a Sarrels bow because I’ve heard nothing but great things about them in the green screen. I look forward to my time with her and hope to stick a critter or two. Fortunately for the next in line I leave for Honduras in 3 weeks for a mission trip so you’ll be getting her early.

If you’ve made it this far thanks for reading.

As mentioned before, is there a way we can get the draw weight specs and maybe the center cut so that we could maybe try and have arrows somewhat ready?

I don't remember exactly, but 47@28 seems to ring a bell in my head.

Maybe PigOps can give us the straight poop with the info written on the bow.

It says 47# @28". I'm pulling 55# @30ish if my scale is reading accurately. It's certainly not cut to center but I'd have to measure what it is cut to...

I received it early this week and have been crazy busy so sorry for not posting sooner. I have shot her a few times and hope to take her on a hunt during my time.

I am not much of a story teller but here it goes...
I was born and lived in San Antonio for 41 years before moving to Nederland, TX where I own and operate a Texas Roadhouse restaurant. I grew up quail and dove hunting primarily and tagged along on a few deer hunts with my dad. I killed my first WT when I was 10 and I was hooked. The summer I turned 12 I discovered archery at my summer church camp and that Christmas I got a Bear Whitetail (pretty sure that was the model)compound bow. I shot that bow pretty much every day. I was finally able to get my first kill almost 2 years later when I did a spot and stalk on a javelina. That was it for me and I was HOOKED! My brother and I would spend lots of time at the archery shop on Blanco rd next door to Stanley Hip targets. We didnít have a deer lease for several years but I was able to hunt a friends place in Comfort for several years but never got a deer. I was the only bow hunter in my family and we never had any stands or bow blinds so I would just hide in some bushes and hope for a shot that never came but I did have enough close encounters to keep me interested. When I was 19 we got on a great lease in Karnes County (still on it 30 years later) and on my 3rd year I got my first buck-a beautiful 10 with split brows. I have taken a dozen or so nice bucks and countless does/pigs and still get excited every time. I recently purchased a Sarrels Blueridge and still building my confidence. I hope to take Sacagawea on hunt before my time is up and I will share that story as well.

I wish I had a more exciting story to tell...I received the bow last month and was hoping to take her on my trip to South Africa. I shot a hundred arrows or so but I just wasn't feeling confident enough to take her with me. I am thankful for the chance to be a part the journey and maybe if we get a second chance I can take her on a pig hunt. I shipped the bow out to JTeLarkin08 this morning.

I just got the bow in the mail. If it is ok with the group I may change up the format and film a few YouTube videos instead of doing a long write up? If thatís not ok Iíll still do a write up but will also be filming a few videos.
