                          Heart Breaking...

Copeland was shot while working his day off, the police chief added. "He worked just about every day off to provide for his kids."

                          Good Lord.

Having known and worked beside Ken for a number of years I can attest to his character and likeability. Ken always was smiling and had a positive attitude. Like Chief Stapp stated in the press conference Ken was always working and to maintain a positive attitude after working numerous days without taking off says something about who he was.

SMPD had never lost an officer in the line of duty and we, Hays County, haven't had an officer killed in over a century, so the past 2 weeks have been surreal with one of our deputies being shot (very lucky more deputies were not shot or killed) while being ambushed and now the loss of Ken.

                            Stay vigilant
