Texins Archery Club Wednesday 3D League

The Texins Archery Club Wednesday Night League will kick off the 2009 season on March 25, and continue weekly through mid-October. All shooters, all skill-levels, and all ages are welcome - there will be something for everyone from the novice to the advanced shooter. New aspects this year include a focus on 3D archery, and an optional Payback system where shooters can win a bit of cash! We strive to provide enjoyable shoots that will build your archery skills and promote fellowship with other shooters. If you are not interested in participating in the Payback, you can shoot as a “Casual” shooter instead, and still be eligible for rewards.

Each week we will rotate between 15- and 20-target formats, with ASA-style scoring. Classes include Open, Hunter, Traditional, and Casual/Youth.

Sign-in starts at 5:45, and the shoot will begin at 6:15. Cost is $5 for TAC members, and $10 for non-members. Come check us out!

Texins Wed. 3D League Begins April 1

The weather forecast this week looks great, so our 3D League really will begin this Wednesday! (Had to cancel last week due to storms)

Our format this week will consist of 15 targets, each to be shot twice back-to-back (that is, you shoot each target twice before you move on). We'll have everything from shooting a turkey target from a popup blind, to shooting blackbuck and bighorn targets in the wide open. Remember to bring binoculars to help you find the spot you want to hit. I've enter the last two competitions at Texim's and had a great time. The course is compact, has shots of all distances, and targets of all sizes. The people shooting are very friendly and the shoot is well organized. It only takes about 1 1/2 hours to get through twenty targets and you can be on your way. Come on out and join us.

The format for the Texins 3D League this week (April 15) will be 15 targets, each to be shot twice, back-to-back. We've had great turnouts the first two weeks, so come join the fun - besides, shooting stuff with arrows will feel great after doing your taxes!

Change in League start times

Just wanted to announce a slight change in our Wednesday 3D League start times.....Beginning April 22, we will do a California start between 6:00 and 6:20 rather than a Shotgun at 6:15. In other words, you can start shooting the course anytime between 6:00 and 6:20. This should help our flow a bit and allow more shooting time.

Our format for April 22 will be 20 targets. We have had great turnouts for our shoots thus far, and there's plenty of room for more shooters - come fling a few arrows with us! See our website for details or contact me directly...

Texins Wednesday 3D League: April 29

Just a quick reminder about our Wednesday 3D League shoot on April 29....We will have a course of 15 targets this week - we will shoot each target twice, back-to-back, but will count only the highest-scoring arrows. Thus I am calling it a Bailout Shoot, as you can bailout your score if needed by counting only your best shots! As always, all shooters, all ages, all skill levels are welcome!

Details on the League structure, including our optional Payback system and Frequent Shooter Rewards, are available on the TAC website. Cost is $5 for members, $10 for non-members, and kids 13 and under shoot for free.
