What did you use to drift the eye?

I forged a drift out of an old log splitting wedge a while back that I use. The press I bought will have a punch/drift die.

I really would like me a press or at least a good trip hammer.
My old horseshoeing hammers don't move metal all that good unless it's soft and thin. 5160 is danged hard to move with a 3 lb hammer under a POS anvil like mine.

Haha I wish I could swing a 20lb sledge with 1 hand. I've used a lot of 5160 in the past for larger knives and it forges pretty easy with a 3lb hammer, but I was starting with a 1/4" thick x 2" wide flat bar.
