Well finally managed to help my 14 year old nephew get his first kill saturday right at noon and best of all on public land! We have been out a couple times trying to get him a hog with no luck and saturday morning we set out looking for a hog or deer. A hog actually came through about 9:30 but he just couldn't get set up on it to get a shot. We were hunting out of a ameristep ground blind and he was shooting off a primos shooting stick. Takes some getting used too. Finally the buck came in about 11:45 to our left. I saw him and knew right away he was legal. Once again he had trouble getting set up on him before the buck walked off into some thick brush. I took some time to give him some help and tips for setting up. Also it gave him time to calm down a bit. The buck worked its way right in front of us and we was able to get set up in a opening in front of the buck. As soon as he hit the clearing I grunted a couple time to stop him and he laid the smack down!
