Not condemning anyone but trying to understand.

Whenever you place any sort of mixer in your drink, how can you really taste your whiskey ? I simply can’t get a good read on the whiskey 🥃 if for instance I make the old standby Jack and Coke.

But if I use one of those oversized round ice balls in a whiskey 🥃 glass , the whiskey gets cold and the ice doesn’t seem to melt so fast, and I can really taste all or as much of the after notes [emoji404] of the drink.

Am I just not good enough to separate the mixer from the whiskey ? Kinda what I was thinking because I’m not much of a creative person.

Found a bottle of blantons in new Mexico this weekend while going fishing. Was really good! Also had some eagle rare and 4 roses single barrel. I think for the money I like the eagle rare.

My wife didn't even know she bought me a good bottle. Was our 4 year anniversary and since flowers are the "traditional" gift for that according to her, she went to the store and grabbed me a bottle of 4 Roses Small Batch... very happy with her choice for a woman who bought it just because the name fit what she was looking for!
