    Who likes older/obsolete cartridges?

Don't ask me why, but I've always had a hankering for older cartridges. They aren't necessarily that old or obsolete, but probably got replaced by more "modern" cartridges. Two that come to mind for me are the 6.5 X 55 and the 7 X 61 Sharpe & Hart. I've had a 6.5, but it was really my dad's rifle and he gave it to his African friend/outfitter several years ago. I've never had the S&H, but it had intrigued me for years. I'd love to get my hands on a good Schultz and Larsen Model 54 or 60 in 7 X 61.

Anyone else have this kind of problem?

I do. My go to deer rifle is a 1895 7x57 Mauser. I have a 6.5x55 Norwegian Krag, a 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser and various 7x57 military mausers that are project rifles. Currently I do not own a "popular" caliber like a 270, 30-06, 243. I have nothing against them and will have one again, I just prefer the old and different.

Count me in I suppose since anything for the 257 Roberts is pretty much non-existent.

        Very nice....

What's the make on the old Swede? My father's was an import from the late 50's I think and he had it sporterized. It had an 18.5 inch barrel and wore an old Weaver K-3, which I still have. I loved that gun and was disappointed when he gave it away.

I was my grandmothers, I think it is a M38. It does have that short barrel that spits fire everytime you shoot it.

              I love my Roberts....

and it's a deer/sheep/hog killing machine. 46 grains of IMR 4350 pushing a 90 gr Barnes X bullet had thumped a lot of critters.

It was my first deer rifle given to me by my dad. About to have a new barrel put on it for a little improved performance.

Same boat here. Finally acquired a 7x57 and a 250 Savage is next on my list. I've always been interested in a Sharp & Hart too. I've had a 264 Win Mag for a long time. A 221 Fireball has piqued my curious mind also.

Have two small ring Spanish Mauser 93’s. One sporterized and one original. Been looking with no luck for someone to sporterize the other for me. Both 7x57.

I do too. Most of my hunting is with a 6.5x55, 7x57, .300 H&H or 8x57J. Last year I came across an original Mauser Type B manufactured in 1905 and chambered in 8x57J (.318 bore). It's pristine and all original. It's one of my absolute favorite rifles.
