I recommend the Gruene Door for you anniversary dinner. Small, less touristy place with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Mozie's for brunch to knock the hangover off. Try the fish tacos or adult grilled cheese. Happy Anniversary!!!

There are the Outlet Stores on the south side of San Marcos, a few miles up IH 35.

Go to the Gristmill and get the Guadalupe Chopped Steak! Me and the wife drive there often from Georgetown just to eat!

I prefer the Huisace over the Gristmill also.

                      Myron's steakhouse
                      Huisache Grill
If you want a burger, go to Freiheit Country store
Gruene River grill is excellent in Gruene
                      Dosarita from Adobe Verde
Go drive around the landa park area of town and look at all of the big urban deer.
Bottle of wine at the Vineyard
Hang out for some cold ones and live music at Oma's

We live less than 5 miles from the Hall so we are in Gruene several times a week. Wonderful place this time of year

                        Gristmill is overated.

                        Tourist trap imo.

Average food for a so called decent view.

                        Just my $0.02!

Bring a light spinning reel or a fly rod. The river is FULL of rainbow trout

Don't forget to take a drive down river road.
McAdoos Seafood or Myrons Steakhouse for a great meal.
Gristmille, Clear Springs or Mozies are good too.
                            Union Street Station for breakfast.
For a dessert go to 2 Tarts bakery and then walk around downtown.
                            Enjoy the anniversary.
