        7-26-2018

We got all of the protein feeders topped off today. So far, for 2018 we have put 11,000lbs of protein, 3,500lbs of cottonseed and 3,500lbs of corn. It's really dry out there but all of the ponds are still full from the big rains we got in June.

Very nice, ya'll seem to have a lot of red dirt up there. That is a good thing.

We received 0.9in on the north part of our property and just over 0.5in on the south part of our property. Weather channel shows really good chances for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday...fingers crossed.

                Purchased Cultipacker

We purchased a 72in cultipacker that we will pull behind the Polaris Ranger.

Here is how we will plant the fields this year:
August 31st - disk fields with harrow drag behind disk
                October 19th:
                Spread fertilizer on fields
Disk/drag fields (thinking about spreading 1/2 of seed with fertilizer and lightly disking 1/2 of the seed around 1/2-in deep)
Spread seed mix (oats, wheat and rye)
Pull cultipacker over entire field two times to help ensure clods are busted and to remove air pockets in soil to help retain moisture.

I'm hoping the cultipacker will help.

                  Game Camera-9-2-2018

We pulled the game camera cards this past weekend and were pleasantly surprised by some of the jumps a couple bucks made. Here are a couple of bucks, I will post more later.

We are going to let all of these bucks walk another year or two and see what they can become.

I'll post more pictures later of some of the other nicer bucks we are seeing.

The typical 12pt is a 4.5yr old. He was a 10pt at 2.5 and a typical 12pt last year. We are really hoping that he and all of the other bucks make it through. The 12pt and the buck with forked G2's could turn into something truly special in a year or two.

Looking real good. Very nice group of buck!!!!

I’m getting old and forgetful and you may have posted pics of him in the past ...But do you have previous history with the big 10 with G2 kickers?

I'm still trying to figure out which buck it is. I can't tell if it's the buck in post #589 or another buck.

It could be the same buck. He has that blond patch above his eyes in both years pics.
