Favorite hornady 22-250 ammo?

My Savage Predator shoots the 40 gr. Vmax very , very well. Only shot one hog with it, a 200/225 lb that was a couple hundred yards away. I was shooting standing up on sticks so didn't chance a head shot. Shot him behind the shoulder, he fell, got back up and ran 150 yards or so quartering to me. When he stopped, I moved to my left to clear a tree limb, he saw that and turned to face me. The next one went right over his left eye and he was dead.

It has been a really accurate round for coyotes and prairie dogs though. Turns prairie dogs into a bloody mess !

shot a hog with 55gr vmax right behind the shoulder, bullet exploded with no penetration. switched to federal fusion and shot one deer with it. very welled pleased. hope to shoot some pigs real soon with them.

They should work in a 223 with a 1:12 twist

They are shorter than the 55 gr tsx

I wouldn't put a Vmax in the chest of a hog. Head/ ear it has done the job for me.

I'd load up some 62 gn sierra game kings. Then you can take whatever shot you'd like and find them.
