When the Castle Law was passed we lost the legal protection if the bad guy was shot at night, at night we were automatically found to be in fear of our lives and it was a legal shooting.

The DA is a LWL and they do not like to see a member of their voting base shot dead.

From what I heard, the guy kicked in the back door. Mr and Mrs. woke up and went to the back of the house. Ended up shooting him in the backyard. Intruder supposedly was armed.

Seems like a gray area though. I guess it depends on if he was shot in front or back. Hopefully they don't get charged with anything.

I just watched this video and it now really unclear as to where he was killed. I will say, I just drove by there and there was a cleaning van outside.....so maybe it did happen inside the house.

The investigator answering questions does not make it clear but if I was betting man, I would say the burglar was shot inside the house and tried to leave and probably met his maker as he fled the residence...

Kim Ogg will likely go after the homeowners. The perp was just a poor man down on his luck just trying to make a living, and this horrible couple ended his life just as he was turning it around. That will be the spin out of the DA's office.
