OK, so now for the rest of the story.
I was actually hunting a buck we call High Brow. He came in before the feeder went off. My camera was out of position, so I Decided to wait for the feeder to go off and run him off so I could reposition
This worked out well and when he came back in I was ready. Except he stayed facing me eating hand corn and then would turn and walk off. He did this several times. The last time he walked off to the right and shortly after a mature buck walked in from the same direction. I wasn’t going to pass the opportunity of a quartering away shot, and let one fly.
After recovering my buck I sent a picture to my lease mates and we to get the truck. This is when one of them pointed out that it was a different buck than I was after. Even while taking a picture, I never looked at the horns after confirming my target before the feeder went off.
It all works out and the other buck is as good or maybe better than this one. I hope one of my buddies puts him down soon.
