    Second Knife

A friend teaching me about knife making. This is my second attempt. The first time to work with brass for bolsters. Dyed mammoth tooth for the scales which is a pain to work with. Found out it chips and spawls. Tried to make some buttons for the lanyards out of slices from an antler tine. Also pretty hard to grind and sand because they are so small. Learning. Starting on the next one by learning file work on the spine. Also found out that it's darn near impossible to drill through cryo treated stainless steel. That stuff is harder than Chinese Arithemetic.Click image for larger version

From what I see,you must have a great teacher and be a fast learner. Looks as good as I see at any of the gun shows or knife shows.

Good looking knife. Seems like you got your grinding down pretty good.

What did you do to hold the brass bolsters on?
