first non typical on the property

I have been watching this deer for the last 3 years and he has been a typical 8. Last year I guessed him to be upper 130's, well this year something happened to him. I have been feeding protein for the last 4 years and we are finally seeing some benefits from it on our deer herd. I don't think the protein made this happen but who knows. Any comments on score or why he did this?

Sometimes a foot or leg injury on one side of a buck's body will cause a deformed antler on the other side the following year. A bad injury can cause the deformed antler to remain permanent. Don't ask me why

Agreed- wonder if he injured that right side earlier this Spring?

Starting to show his true colors.
                Give him 2-3 more years.
