We use whatever the local feedstore (Brady Feed and Fertilizer) carries which is Livengood 20% deer protein. They also carry a 16% protein and Mr. Buck, which is a soybean/corn mix. We just feed the 20% Livengood deer protein and cottonseed this time of the year and run our corn feeders thru turkey season.

We simply use the roasted deer blend from Waller Rice Drier
It's roasted soybean/corn mix. We have it mixed to 22%

20% is good right now but after march I wouldn't feed anything more than 16%. A few of my friends are switching to ADM they have had good results with it!

We use Lyssy & Eckel 20%. Get it from a place in Pearsall.

Angelo pellets. I mixed in some Rowena feeds cotton seed protein blend this time for a little more fat.

I know nothing about protein, but want to start in the near future. Sorry for the ignorance, but what is the logic behind this?

as a supplemental feed - it helps keep body weights up especially during droughts. If fed in enough quantity it helps with the development of the horns
