Need some helpful input. We have a lease in Houston County and have some pretty good pics of deer at our protein (gravity) feeders before we swapped over to corn (spin) feeders. Our protein feeders are protected by hog paneling but our corn feeders are wide open. The hogs are coming to nearly every corn feeder we have and eating the corn before the deer have a chance to come in.
So here's where the helpful input is needed. We are considering putting hog paneling up around half of the corn feeders this weekend to see if that will help clear some of the hogs out while allowing the deer access to the corn. We are also considering going all out and shooting (using gun and bow) as many hogs as we can to possibly run them off the lease for a little while.
In everyone's most expert opinion, what would be the best way for us to handle our hog epidemic? And would either of these possible solutions have negative effects on our deer for this season. Thanks for any input!
