Sub venison for beef? Anyone else do it?

Only time we eat beef these days is when we want a prime steak every once and blue moon. Other than that we only eat venison as our red meat. Hamburgers, meat balls, stir fry, fajitas, on and on and on. Just curious if anyone else does this?

Tonight is mule deer meatballs for spaghetti.

Same boat here subbing venison for most all beef. Do my best to catch all the fish I eat. I will buy chicken or pork chops every now and then too.

Cooked a venison pot roast two nights ago that was as tender and falling apart as any roast I've ever head.

I even cut steaks this year. I haven't eaten beef all year.

I plan to try it this season with deer. Hoping I draw a elk tag if so then I'll have elk steaks again.

We eat 80% deer for our red meat. We do buy fajitas and steaks. But we do cut deer steaks also and theyre really good. Shoot for med rare and thet are hard to beat. Salt, pepper and hot cast iron skillet 3 minutes per side or so. Flip once.

The only beef we buy is a few briskets a year to smoke. All other red meat is venison. This year I used Fleming's near Lake Conroe for processing and they make AMAZING fajitas and Italian sausage.

Just subbed venison for beef in a stew going into the slow cooker for about 8 hours in the morning.

My wife has not cooked anything with ground beef in over 3 years. Axis, whitetail, and sika are stocked in two freezers.

We no longer buy ground beef at all. All my ground meat is venison mixed with some beef fat.

We eat very very little beef. I didn't have a place to hunt this passed season so I've been buying beef here and there. I've got one more pack of venison I was given so now we'll be eating fish for our primary protein.
