Me and my girls got after them this morning. It is by far my most favorite time of the year. Sitting in a blind with my teenage daughters, working a new dog, shooting a mess of teal. It was a great morning.

Had a good opener in Garwood. Not covered in birds ,but better than the start last season. 3 of us had limits by 8:15 or so. Another group of 3 down the road had limits about the same time. Did see several groups still in the field around 9 still hunting.

Headed to eagle lake in the morning. Hoping to break the stoeger in right.

I have not seriously waterfowl hunted in almost 15 years. Some times I miss it, and then I think off all the works putting out decoys and picking them up, along with fighting the mud and the skeeters and not to mention the public land idiots and then I dont really miss it.

I might take the boat and hunt the south shore line of East Matagorda this year and try and make a hunt, but then again I might sleep in.
