I'm no expert but I would choose spot lock.

I love my Ultrex. It's so nice when fishing through trees to hit spot lock when I catch a good one and I can take it off the hook and get it weighted and in the livewell and not blow off 50yds.

Yes my console unit has side imaging. Question though do I also need side imaging on my bow unit or is it not necessary. I keep reading conflicting things whether or not it helps up front or not.

          2019 Crappie thread!!

I only use SI on the console. If it's on the TM your picture is going to distort everytime you turn the motor.
Whatever you do link your graphs so when you mark a waypoint on the console unit it's marking it on the front graph as well. I use 360 and Livescope to find the waypoints I mark with my console unit.

No need, usually have to be idling to get a clear reading so at the console is all I’d recommend. DI, sonar and mapping is nice up front though.

Thanks everyone that's the way I'll plan to go. Slew I had another garmin up front only to realize it wouldn't share waypoints with my new unit so I'm going to get a new echomap plus down imaging up front then a spot lock next

Had the crawfish man on the deck today! Made a quick scouting run since I haven't been to lake in a while and we managed to find a few!

I carried my good buddy out in 30 mile an hour winds ( at our age we should know better)
The boat ride was tough but the crappie made it worth it.
We put 50 on ice in a couple of hours

Palestine is getting better each week! Few were still full of eggs but most had already spawned.
